Activating and logging in to your account

Introduction

You can log in to Work Author in different ways, depending on whether your organisation uses single sign-on (SSO and what you’re working on: a document, a question, or an assessment.

 

How will I know how to log in?

 

You’ll either:

  • Get an email from Work Author with instructions to activate your account, log in, or access shared documents or questions.
  • Your admin will tell you that you have an account and how to log in.


Note: The way you log in the first time is the same way you'll log in next time.









Logging in with a username and password

Your admin will invite you to join Work Author. You’ll get an email asking you to activate your account.


Note: Activation links are valid for seven days. If you are having trouble activating your account or need to request a new activation link, please contact support@deployed.co.



To activate your account:

 

1.   Click ‘Activate account’ at the bottom of the email.

 

2.   Set up a new password in the browser. This will be your password for future logins, so make sure it’s memorable.

 

3.   Click Continue.


Tip: Once you’re logged in, save the browser’s URL. This is your organisation’s Work Author link and how you’ll access the platform. 





Logging in with Single-Sign-On (SSO)

If your organisation uses Single Sign-On (SSO) for Work Author, you will be able to log in with your existing work account. 

 

With SSO, you might not get an email to activate your account, depending on your organisation’s settings.

 

If you don’t get an email but know you’re a user, follow these steps:

1.   Enter your organisation’s Work Author URL into your browser.


2.   Enter your work email and click "Continue", orClick your company's login at the bottom. Both will take you to your company's SSO login.


3.   Sign in, and you'll go to your Work Author dashboard.


If you received an email to activate your account with SSO:

1.   Click "Activate account" at the bottom of the email.


2.   Follow steps 2 and 3 above.


Note: Activation links are valid for seven days. If you are having trouble activating your account or need to request a new activation link, please contact support@deployed.co.






Logging in with a one-time password

Note: This applies to external users invited to collaborate on a document.



If you receive a document from Work Author and you don't work for the company that sent it, you are an external user.


1.   Click the link at the bottom of the email inviting you to the document.


2.   On the login page, enter the email address that received the invite and click "Continue."3.   A one-time password will be sent to your email. Enter the code and click "Continue."


4.   You'll go straight to the document that was shared with you.


Tip: To access the document later, click the link in the email again and follow the same process, or use the inviting organisation’s Work Author URL. You can find this by returning to the dashboard and copying the browser’s URL.






Using Work Author without an account

In some scenarios you will not need to log in to use Work Author:

 

  • If you’re an external user and someone shares a question with you, like a client or partner. 
  • If you’re accessing an assessment with a Magic Link

 

In these cases, just click the link you received or copy and paste it into your browser.
